Slavic Christian Ministries is a Christian mission agency that shares the Good News of Jesus Christ. We focus our outreach to the cities, towns and villages within northeast Ukraine with our orphan, English evangelism, theology, and short-term mission ministries.
Through our distance learning program, we also work with churches, denominations, and Christian colleges throughout Ukraine, Russia, Latvia, and Belarus, in an effort to save the lost and make mature disciples of Christ.
Slavic Christian Ministries is a 501(c)(3) non-profit Christian organization.
Our Accomplishments
Since our inception in 2001, Slavic Christian Ministries has regularly ministered to over 2,900 people, with almost 500 people making confessions of saving faith in Jesus Christ.

Statement of Faith
The Word of God
SCM believes the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired Word of God, inerrant in the original writings, complete as the revelation of God’s will for salvation, and the supreme and final authority in all matters to which they speak.
The Trinity
SCM believes in one God, Creator and Sustainer of all things, eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; that they are equal in every divine perfection and that they each hold distinct functional offices that are harmonious with each other in the work of creation, providence and redemption.
God the Father
SCM believes in God the Father who is infinite, personal and, who is perfect in every way, including holiness, wisdom, power, and love. He concerns Himself in the affairs of men and women, hears and answers prayers, and saves all people from sin and death who come to Him through a saving relationship in Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ
SCM believes that Jesus Christ is God’s eternal Son, and that He has precisely the same nature, attributes, and perfections as God the Father and God the Holy Spirit. He is not only true God, but also true man, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. SCM believes He lived a sinless life, in substitutionary atonement, His bodily resurrection from the dead, His ascension into heaven, His priestly intercession on behalf of His people, and His personal, visible, premillennial return from heaven.
Holy Spirit
SCM believes in the Holy Spirit, His personality and His work in regeneration, sanctification, preservation, and intercession. His ministry is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ and implement Christ’s work of redeeming the lost and empowering the believer for godly living and service.
Humanity
SCM believes God created humanity in the image of God and free from sin. SCM further believes that all people are sinners by nature and choice, and are spiritually dead away from a saving relationship with Jesus Christ.
Salvation
SCM believes in salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. This salvation is based upon the sovereign grace of God, was purchased by Christ on the cross and is received through faith apart from any human merit, works or ritual. SCM believes that salvation should be reflected through righteous living, good works, and social concern for those that are poor, oppressed, or in need.
The Church
SCM believes that the church is the spiritual body of which Christ is the head, and is composed of all people who through saving faith in Jesus Christ have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit. This body of people expresses itself in local assemblies whose members have been baptized after a credible confession of faith and have associated themselves for worship, instruction, evangelism and service. SCM believes in baptism, preferably by immersion, and the Lord’s Supper.
Christian Conduct
SCM believes that the supreme task of every believer is to glorify God in life and conduct, and be blameless before the world. Each Christian should be a faithful steward of all their possessions, and seek to mature in every area of life through Christ.
Last Things
SCM believes in the bodily resurrection of the saved and lost, the eternal existence of all people in either heaven or hell, in divine judgments, rewards, and punishments.
Vision
With God’s blessing, our mission agency partners with Ukrainian nationals and Western missionaries in evangelism and discipleship in the under reached cities, towns and villages in Eastern Ukraine, while providing distance learning for the entire country and several additional countries. Our guiding Scripture is 2 Timothy 2:1-2, which says
"You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others."
Our Mission
Our prayer is that Slavic Christian Ministries will be known as a ministry that dramatically impacts lives as we:
- Ensure that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is presented to the lost;
- Meet the spiritual, emotional and physical needs of the hurting and poor;
- Create partnerships between the churches in the Eastern and Western hemispheres in an effort to expand the Kingdom of Christ to the ends of the earth (through short-term mission efforts).
Our objective is to see people completely transformed through the life-changing knowledge and unwavering truth of Jesus’ atoning sacrifice on the cross and His on-going ministry to His Church.
Philosophy
Foundational to our approach to ministry is discovering how God has called us to take care of the needy, point lost people to Jesus, while encouraging and educating believers. We seek to minister, love, care, and assist people who are being neglected. We always seek new ways and opportunities to build into people’s lives, all in the name of our Lord Jesus.
Slavic Christian Ministries believes that the short-term mission experience provides an opportunity for life change to the participants that goes on one of our trips, as well as, eternally impacting another person’s life in the Ukraine.
We believe that "what we do" is important and should be clear and concise. We strive to be the best in what we do for our Lord. However, "how we do it" is also key to building relationships between our two cultures. We pride ourselves in providing short-term missionaries with a carefully planned trip, while also maximizing our impact in Ukraine. All of our short-term trips are designed to support our other ministry activities that continue throughout the year.
Core Values
We recognize that we must pray and operate under the following strategically formulated ministry principles:
- God’s Blessing – SCM exists to help the lost, poor, and needy (emotionally, physically and spiritually), all in the name of Jesus. Experience dictates that God will bless our ministry as we take the time to cultivate our own relationship with him and abide in him first (John 15:1-17). We strive to be Christ-sufficient and maintain an attitude of Christian compassion and love as we minister to less fortunate individuals.
- Faithfulness – Scripture indicates that we are yoked with Christ and that he desires to work with us in fulfilling the Great Commission. Thus, we are called to be joyful in our hope, patient in affliction and faithful in prayer (Rom. 12:12). At times we are tested to prove our faithfulness (1 Cor. 4:2), but we unswervingly hold to the hope we profess and remain faithful to Jesus Christ who shows his faithfulness as we partner with him (Heb. 10:23; Ps. 18:25).
- Passion – We partner with Christian workers who have a desire to minister on behalf of Jesus with all of their heart. Our objective is to work passionately, diligently and joyfully using the gifts God has given each individual in an effort to expand Christ’s kingdom for Jesus on earth. Deuteronomy 12:18b says, “You are to rejoice before the Lord your God in everything you put your hand to.”
- Integrity – All individuals will be held at the highest level of internal and external integrity according to biblical standards of fairness and ethics.
- Accountability – Anyone associated with SCM will be held accountable to uphold and maintain the holy name and character of Jesus, SCM as an organization, and to protect the spiritual walk of every individual in our SCM family. This accountability is not done in a spirit of legalism, but in an environment of encouragement and grace to all that are struggling or have repented from wrongdoing.
The SCM Logo
The Cross of Christ
The logo is a Christian cross that reminds us of Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection from the grave. Because of his resurrection, Jesus lives to intercede for every Christian believer as his or her high priest until we can be reunited with him fully in the near future.
Two Roads
The logo is also two roads that connect Christians from the western and eastern hemispheres for the common goal of reaching lost souls for Jesus Christ. SCM takes great pride in being a ministry that has helped empower nationals to reach their own people, while helping Americans connect, build relationships, and partner with Slavic people in ministry and meaningful relationships.
The Colors
The logo is comprised of three colors, with two of the colors signifying the cross. The upper portion of the cross is dark blue, which symbolically represents the prayers of God’s people going up to heaven. SCM clearly understands that without God’s blessing, nothing eternal will be accomplished. Thus, we rely heavily on prayer.
The lower portion of the cross is in crimson, which symbolically represents the blood of Christ that was sacrificed on the cross at Calvary, and is available to all people around the world for the purification of their personal sin when a person turns to Jesus and asks for forgiveness.
The word Slavic is in gray. The Slavic people are the target group for SCM. This may include any person that lives within an eastern European or western Asian nation that is Slavic in ethnicity or any person in the world that speaks a Slavic language, no matter their location of residence. The color gray was chosen to emphasize the fact that without Jesus as a person’s personal Savior, life has no meaning.
The color gray is also a constant reminder to our ministry that our work is never done as long as there is a lost soul who does not know Jesus personally.
